It’s hard to deny the resurgence in popularity of Fallout 76, especially since the debut of Amazon’s TV show adapted from the game franchise.

Capitalising in this success, Bethesda are pushing into 2025 with a new update for season 20 that finally brings ghouls as playable characters.

Recent updates have taken Fallout 76 to a whole new level of enjoyment

And we can’t wait.

The update is still a way off, as the ghouls aren’t available until March 2025, but Bethesda is ramping up by showing off the new additions at every opportunity.

Fallout 76 has always received regular updates, but since the recent spike in players, the game has got even better.

Many are considering it to be in the best state it’s ever been in.

Fallout is a hot property right now and while it might be a wait until the fifth game, there’s still plenty to do in the wasteland.

Playing as a ghoul in Fallout 76 is more than just a cosmetically different player character.

Ghouls are due to have their own perks and abilities which will make playing the game feel incredibly different to what fans have experienced over the years.

On top of that, NPCs are going to act very differently towards you if you’re choosing to play as a ghoul, as they’re often looked down upon and are subject to prejudice.

I haven’t touched Fallout 76 in years after feeling a little disappointed upon launch.

This update has me considering diving back in as Bethesda looks to put a huge focus on the game to tide players over until the next single player outing.

If you’re yearning for a trip through the wasteland, it might be worth considering finding your feet over the next couple of months.

Then, when season 20 hits, you can pick up a new character experience as a ghoul and join in the fun.
