Fallout 4 fans blown away by secret area in game's starting area

There is no better feeling than going off the beaten track in an open-world RPG and stumbling across secret loot or a hidden Easter egg.

That is definitely a common occurrence in Fallout 4 and despite the title rapidly approaching its 10th anniversary, it has not stopped its dedicated fanbase from sharing the game’s best kept secrets.

As any player would know, Fallout 4’s starting area consists of the now war-torn Sanctuary and it is here you will create your first base and get the lay of the (waste) land.

However, with it being the starting area, you would not think it would offer many high-quality materials but that is not the case according to some fans over on r/fo4.

After one post asked for “obscure, valuable tips/tricks” for Fallout 4, players were happy to oblige and began sharing their best kept secrets. This includes a few that are lurking around Sanctuary itself.

“There's a house in Sanctuary (yellow I think) with a bunker of sorts in the backyard. You can get supplies out of it and a few gold bars too,” one comment suggested.

Although these items aren’t anything amazing, they will still help you on your journey and that’s not it as the roof of this house also hides a military bag which can be accessed by a nearby fallen tree.

Following on from this one house, head towards the nearby river where you may stumble across a Raider shooting some bottles. Killing this unsuspecting guy will reward you with some pretty decent armour to start the game with.

Last but not least, heading just out of Sanctuary across the bridge, following the river to the right will finally see you stumble across a small island with a military truck. This will feature an army helmet with some pretty good defence.

All of this is available in Fallout 4’s starting area so don’t miss out if you are new to the game!
