Nexon has announced a new gorgeous RPG which blends Elden Ring with Baldur’s Gate 3.
Earlier this week, Nexon revealed Embers of the Uncrowned, an MMORPG with dark fantasy elements that has all the flavours of games like Elden Ring and Baldur’s Gate 3.
The game was unveiled with a trailer, which doesn’t show any gameplay but does have some cinematics to show off the vibe of the game.
In the trailer, we see a mysterious elf who is named ‘Bella’, who is confronted by a group of knights in the ruins of a village. She is seen extending her hand where liquid silver tendrils spread across the knights’ bodies right before they’re torn apart.

Bella then absorbs their blood and walks off, leaving behind a single phoenix signet ring as the only remnant of the massacre. And you thought your Mondays were tough.
If you fancy checking the trailer out, we've embedded it below for you to look at.
While details on the eventual game are still light, Nexon describes Embers of the Uncrowned as “set in a rich, immersive dark fantasy world”, and is “based on a hero’s journey to rebuild a noble house devastated by the elves and reclaim the land that once belonged to humanity.”
According to Nexon, the game has “thrilling tactical combat”, which leads me to think it’ll be a mix of Dragon Age and Baldur’s Gate-style combat. Players recruit loyal companions and master a unique roster of classes.
Some of these classes include “the swift Spectral Blade, the crushing Executioner, or the magic-wielding Stormbringer”, which will dominate the battlefield.
As an MMO, the game focuses on its co-op elements, where you can join forces with other players to reclaim lands taken by “mighty Domain Bosses”, with massive raids demanding “perfect cooperation and flawless tactics to defeat overwhelmingly powerful enemies”.

Nexon has also revealed information about how the world state plays into Embers of the Uncrowned’s MMO features. As players gain notoriety and strengthen their domain, the world will expand with new stories.
Meanwhile, as you travel further in conquest, you’ll develop your territory from a humble camp into a vibrant city as people gather and the domain expands. Along the way, you can dress up in a wide variety of different costumes, utilising different facial and body customisations to create a signature look all your own.
If you’re interested in learning more about Embers of the Uncrowned, you can take a look at the official Steam page from Nexon, and wishlist the game for further updates.
It doesn’t currently have a release date assigned to it, though Nexon has revealed that a playable free demo is "coming soon", which should give you a chance to check out an early slice of the gameplay, and hopefully be able to play with a group of other players.
