Between House of the Dragon and The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, fantasy fans are thriving right now. The Rings of Power received rave reviews from critics, but not all fans are convinced by the show. In fact, the series was review-bombed shortly after release prompting Amazon to take action and now, it looks like the series has attracted one more critic: Elon Musk.

Yet to dive in? Check out the trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power below.

Musk took to Twitter to share his rather blunt thoughts about the show, simply writing that “Tolkien is turning in his grave,” before adding “Almost every male character so far is a coward, a jerk, or both. Only Galadriel is brave, smart and nice.” Well, Lord of the Rings fans soon flocked to the tweet to defend The Rings of Power.

User _captain_jay wrote, “You’re the literal embodiment of everything Tolkien despised,” whilst smolwarden added, “Tolkien would hate your guts.” LeVostreGC joked, “Ye knowe nothing, Elon Musk,” and HappyNacho73 commented, “Sauron says what?”

Some rushed to the tycoon’s defence. User shulamithbond said, “Somehow that is not a surprising take,” but for the most part, Musk was dunked on. ResDolph summed up the situation, writing, “Bro, Tolkien would’ve disliked everything you stand for. You are literally Smaug, hoarding your wealth under the mountain.”
