Industry rumours point towards Fromsoftware working on a new game, currently codenamed ‘FMC,’ and it could be here sooner than we expected.
The rumour, and it is just that currently, states that the next game from the makers of Elden Ring is quite far along in production and, unless there’s a delay, we could see it as early as 2026.
It’s a wonder that Fromsoftware has the time to work on another game at the moment, considering we’ve just had Elden Ring Nightreign, and we’re anticipating the Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive, The Duskbloods.
The studio has grown exponentially over the years after the success of the genre they defined through Dark Souls and its sequels.

What the mystery game could be is anyone’s guess, though more rumours have swirled recently, reporting that the company is working on a Dark Souls 3 remake or remaster.
Of course, what we all really want is a sequel to Bloodborne, and Hidetaka Miyazaki has said in the past that he has an interest in returning to the Sony exclusive.
The codename of ‘FMC’ doesn’t point to anything notable, as past codenames have never reflected the final title for any Fromsoftware project.
For example, Bloodborne was originally worked on under the codename ‘SPRJ’ and the recent success, Elden Ring Nightreign, was known internally as ‘CL.’

Fans will all be wanting different things from the studio; some favour that return to Yarnham, others want more from the world of Elden Ring, and some will simply want something new, and not set as a console exclusive.
The rumour is reported at MP1st, who notes that this game is being tested on multiple platforms, which should rule it out from being Bloodborne, so we now must organise a riot.
I’ll meet you all at Sony’s headquarters, bring water and signs.
