'Elden Ring' Player Discovers Incredible Strategy For Game's Most Infuriating Puzzle

One Elden Ring player has discovered a very fitting solution to overcome the annoying Frenzied Flame jump puzzle.

Elden Ring is full of some really difficult challenges. Even random enemies can be surprisingly threatening in the right situations (unless that’s just me being terrible at the game), but no one can deny being stuck at some point on at least one of the game’s bigger bosses.

If Elden Ring's final boss wasn't hard enough already, you can always try defeating it with a dance mat instead...

The enemies aren’t the only obstacles in the way of all the poor Tarnished out there, though - the infamous Frenzied Flame jump puzzle in the Cathedral of the Forsaken is known for being a pain to complete. Over on Reddit though, one player has discovered a really simple way of overcoming it, and it’s a super fitting solution.

“Turns out the jump animation for Vyke's War Spear is the perfect distance to easily get down to the Frenzied Flame Proscription,” Todd_The_Sailor wrote. “The only jump needed is onto the first coffin, but after that all you need to do is use the weapon skill and hop from one coffin to the next!”

You can grab Vyke's War Spear by defeating Festering Fingerprint Vyke on the way to Church of Inhibition, in Liurnia of the Lakes, but it inflicts Madness on its wielder, something which other Reddit users were quick to point out is super ironic, given the context of the puzzle’s location.

“I wouldn't be surprised if this was the intended way the entire time,” wrote D3vilM4yCry. “A specific Madness ability from a Madness weapon (the only one in the game, not including the Fingerprint Shield) jumps the exact perfect distance to navigate the puzzle that takes you to the NPC that unlocks the Madness ending? That's some incredible coincidence.”
