Elden Ring and Ghost of Tsushima have quickly become some of the most-loved games in recent years and for good reason. It is perhaps no surprise then that developers are using the titles as inspiration for a game hailed as the “spiritual successor” to Sekiro.

Feng Qi Luo Yang is a martial arts action RPG from Keyframe Studio that seemingly draws a lot of its inspiration from titles such as Elden Ring, Ghost of Tsushima, Sekiro and Nioh. With many big names being compared to it, it’s no surprise that many players are excited to learn more. Luckily for them, the first gameplay trailer was recently released.

Check out the Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice trailer below!

With the game reportedly still in development with the team aiming to launch the official Steam page and demo in upcoming months, the information we currently have is limited to this first gameplay trailer. So let’s take a look at what we can expect.

The trailer opens with our first look at some of the environments we can find in Feng Qi Luo Yang including monasteries, ramshackle villages and temples hidden within cave depths. We then get our first look at our main character as they sprint around uneven streets and enter into their first combat.

The combat is very reminiscent of Soulslike titles with our main character being armed with a sword and finding themselves toe-to-toe with a wide variety of challenging opponents who defend themselves with martial arts.

As with any Soulslike game, you will also find yourself coming across the occasional boss with the dreaded health bar at the bottom of the screen. Things will be no different in Feng Qi Luo Yang with both our protagonist and their enemy going head-to-head with an arsenal of weapons and apparently spell abilities. The bosses are a sight to behold in Feng Qi Luo Yang and will vary from an occasional Samurai to a statue brought to life. All I can say is good luck!

Feng Qi Luo Yang is yet to receive a release date but fans of the Soulslike genre should definitely keep their eyes out for this one.
