'Dying Light 2' Is Getting A Major Update With A Highly Requested Feature

Techland have announced that the third patch for Dying Light 2 is on the way, and will include a New Game+ mode.

Despite being very highly anticipated and releasing to very favourable critic reviews, talk about Dying Light 2 faded out of existence pretty fast. Not that that really says anything about the game itself - it came out at a pretty poor time when you consider that Horizon Forbidden West released just two weeks after it, shortly followed by the behemoth that is Elden Ring a week after that.

It’s definitely a shame that the hype dropped off so quick, because the title has a lot to offer, but now, Techland are set to bring even more to the table with a feature that fans have been asking for since release. Yesterday, the devs announced on Twitter that the game’s third patch is on its way, and is apparently going to be one of the biggest updates yet.

Did you know it's possible to permanently keep the flying broomstick in Dying Light 2? Find out how to fly around the whole map in the video below.

“Survivors, our team is working hard on patch 3 for DL2 Stay Human. It will be one of the biggest patches we've released so far,” the tweet reads. “Apart from many fixes for both multi and single-player mode, it will also introduce a New Game+ mode, giving you more reasons to re-visit The City.

“We're planning to release patch [three] on all platforms by the end of this month. Full notes will be available once the update is live.”

That’s right - if anyone was itching to sink their teeth back in to the game (heh) then you have a great new excuse to do so. That said, with the apparent 500 hours of content that Dying Light 2 boasts, I don’t know how anyone could have gotten through all that and still felt like going back for more, but you do you, I guess.

Slightly off topic, but also just a reminder that the game is coming to Nintendo Switch, somehow. Well, I say “somehow” - cloud gaming is the answer, as controversial as that tends to be when it comes to Switch releases. But, if you have a solid internet connection and feel like taking your zombie slaying adventures to a whole new portable realm, stay tuned for that.
