Dino Crisis PlayStation remake is finally on the horizon

Dino Crisis fans are speculating that series creator Shinji Mikami could be working on a remake of one of the original titles.

Dino Crisis? Haven’t heard that name in years. Capcom’s action-adventure and survival horror series, which served to give many young PlayStation users dinosaur-related nightmares in the late 90s and early 2000s, has been stagnant for years now. In fact, next year will mark two full decades without a new Dino Crisis game, which feels like a crime.

However, it sounds like that could be soon to change. As reported by GGRecon, fans suspect that the creator of the series, Shinji Mikami, is now working on something with Capcom and PlatinumGames.

Fans of Dino Crisis are sure to love Instinction - an action-adventure game built using Unreal Engine 5 which is full of, you guessed it, dinosaurs. Take a look at the gameplay preview below.

Before we get into it, none of this is fully confirmed, so do take it with a pinch of salt. However, it's looking promising, so I think we’re allowed to get a little bit hyped, as a treat. Anyway, one Reddit user on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours has discovered what appears to be Mikami’s Facebook page. Following the link to it now won’t let you see any posts as he’s made them available only to his friends, but the Reddit user has attached a screenshot of a post they claim is from him.

This screenshotted post has been translated by Google, and makes reference to a “remake game”. It reads: “We are happy we made a remake of this game. Thanks to all the team work ready to finish the game.” Hashtags for Tango Gameworks (founded by Mikami), PlatinumGames and Capcom were also included.

So, that’s mysterious, and Dino Crisis fans everywhere are now praying that a remake of one of the classic titles could be in the works. With Mikami's supposed Facebook profile being locked now though, there’s unfortunately no way to verify the post’s validity. Assuming it’s real though, it might not even be a Dino Crisis remake that he's working on - it could potentially be a remake of the PS2 beat ‘em up God Hand, or something else entirely. We’ll just have to see if anything is officially announced.
