Days Gone free download quietly released, available now

It's time to take down some hordes

Fans of zombies in great measure are in luck as one game that takes zombie hordes to the extreme has just received a free download to get stuck into right now.

Yes, I am talking about Days Gone, the 2019 action-adventure title from Bend Studio.

If you somehow missed out on the zombie survival game, it follows outlaw-turned-drifter Deacon St. John as he travels across a post-apocalyptic Oregon two years after a zombie plague began.

After learning that his once-presumed wife may in fact be alive, he sets off to find her but must deal with hordes of enemies in a vast-open world along the way.

As Bend Studio’s first open-world project, Days Gone was met with mixed reviews upon launch and still maintains division to this day.

Nonetheless, Bend Studio is still dedicated to making Days Gone an enjoyable experience for fans and that is why it has just released a new patch.

Available for Days Gone on PC and Days Gone Remastered on PS5, the free update mainly addresses stability issues but full patch notes for both PC and PS5 can be found on the official website.

The patch notes for both PC and PS5 read as follows -

  • Various crash fixes.
  • Streaming performance improvements.
  • Translation updates.

This also includes the Days Gone Broken Road DLC and will update the game on both the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro.

As you can see, there will be no new content or anything greatly exciting but it will still make playing the game a lot smoother and enjoyable for fans.

Despite Bend Studio being keen to work on a Days Gone 2, it seems as though Sony does not share the same sentiment so it seems as though fans will have to make do with the base game if they want some zombie horde action.

Although, who knows? Maybe Sony will change its mind in the future.
