Some Dark Souls fans are wondering when we’ll get Dark Souls IV; the answer is never but I don’t think people are going to stop asking for it.
Now I love Dark Souls, more so than any other game series probably, but I’d be so disappointed if a Dark Souls IV was made.
Dark Souls III ended the trilogy so beautifully, it’d be a shame to ruin it with an unnecessary sequel.
Many don’t share the same opinion though, as some are still holding out hope that FromSoftware is cooking up another Dark Souls game and is just not telling us about it.

“It’s been years since Dark Souls III but at the same time, they may just be keeping quiet, what are your thoughts about it?” asked Longjumping-Hunt8104 on Reddit.
Thankfully the comments were dead against the idea, with one saying: “No, and the reason why is literally the plot of Dark Souls III; it's a metaphor for this exact conversation.”
Another comment added, ”DS3 wraps up the series in a pretty satisfying way and as far as I've heard, Miyazaki has no desire to go back to the series. I have a strong feeling that he wanted to leave it at just the first game but was pressured to make a sequel.”
Others argued that games like Elden Ring serve as Dark Souls IV and beyond anyway, as it’s pretty much the same experience just in a different format and setting.

While I’d be disappointed to see a Dark Souls IV made, I don’t think the series should be left to rot entirely, as I’d still be really keen to see the first, maybe the second game too, get remade.
Something similar to Demon Souls that irons out some of the more annoying/unfinished gameplay elements, as long as it’s not a sequel.
