Yesterday saw CD Projekt RED reveal that it had secretly been working on yet another update for Cyberpunk 2077 despite revealing earlier this year that it was officially done with development.

With CD Projekt RED hard at work on developing both The Witcher 4 and Cyberpunk 2077’s sequel, fans had no reason not to believe the studio when it announced development on the latter had come to an end after four years.

The news which came earlier this year was bittersweet as despite knowing that we could no longer look forward to updates, we also appreciated that Cyberpunk 2077 had one of the biggest comebacks in gaming history after its less-than-smooth launch back in 2020.

However, it seems as though all of those mixed emotions were for nothing as CDPR took to social media to reveal that it had secretly been working on Update 2.2.

We will find out more about the next big update later today thanks to a scheduled livestream but for now, fans are overjoyed to hear that their time in Night City is far from over.

Taking to r/cyberpunkgame, talk soon turned to the announcement and it is safe to say that it received quite a positive reception.

“The world constantly s**ts on the collective hope of humanity. Something like a video game patch shouldn't make me feel so good, but it does,” Reddit user El_Mariachi_Vive commented.

Plakio99 was feeling optimistic about the upcoming stream, “Wait what? This has to be a major update if they are having a whole stream for it!”

With Cyberpunk 2077’s 2.0 and 2.1 updates adding a Metro System, romance hangouts, new vehicles, a radio station and much more, we can assume that 2.2 will be equally as jam-packed.

Luckily, we have just a few hours to wait until we find out.
