Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners RPG officially coming this year

The love-child of Cyberpunk Edgerunners and Cyberpunk RED will be arriving a lot sooner than we think courtesy of a recent announcement.

First announced back in 2022, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit will join tabletop RPG Cyberpunk Red but will be accompanied with the story and characters we fell in love with during the hit Netflix anime Cyberpunk Edgerunners.

If you didn’t already know, Cyberpunk RED is a tabletop RPG that acts as a prequel and inspiration for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. Set during 2045, it follows the events that occur during the run up to the fateful year of 2077.

On the other hand, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit is developed by R. Talsorian Games in collaboration with CD Projekt Red and will take players deep into Night City with much-loved Edgerunners characters such as David, Lucy and Rebecca.

Although players don’t need any prior knowledge of Cyberpunk at all, the Edgerunners Mission Kit will arrive with a lore handbook which will explain all there is to know about the futuristic Night City as well as standard rules on how to play the tabletop RPG.

Not only that but it will also come with a full-length mission titled The Jacket which will see your crew take on the role of Edgerunners. Whether this means you create your own Edgerunner or play as one of the premade characters, you will dive straight into the action similar to that seen in the anime.

Last but not least, there will be further ties to Cyberpunk Edgerunners as the show’s writer and producer Bartosz Sztybo contributed to character biographies for the tabletop game so rest assured, your favourite characters are in good hands.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Mission Kit will be released in “mid to late June” according to R. Talsorian Games. So although there will be no second season to the hit Netflix anime, it is not the last we have seen of our favourite augmented characters.
