Cyberpunk 2077 publisher drops nearly 50 free games you can download and keep

No catch, no free trials - just a bunch of games for free

CD Projekt, the publisher behind the likes of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077, is currently giving away roughly 50 classic titles for absolutely free.

The catch? There isn’t one. That’s right folks, all of these games can be yours at zero cost without the need to sign up for a free trial or pay a monthly fee. Just claim them and keep them forever.

GOG.com, formerly known as Good Old Games when it was originally founded back in 2008, is probably the only video game storefront that folks online actually trust, other than Steam.

The site was created and is still run by CD Projekt themselves, who wanted to offer players a legitimate way to buy and play older titles that were no longer compatible with modern operating systems.

They also knew that several older titles were often pirated by players due to their outdated/overly strict use of Digital Rights Management restrictions, and that players would take the opportunity to purchase games legitimately if these restrictions were removed.

And that’s where we find ourselves today, because you’ll more than likely recognise some older titles on GOG’s current list of free titles that can only be played through GOG itself.

That doesn’t mean all the titles are on the older side though, as there’s a bunch of stuff on that list that’s from the last decade alongside some proper classics such as The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall and Ultima 4: Quest of the Avatar.

Plus, they’ve got GWENT! Honestly, what more do you need?

To claim all of these games for yourself, all you have to do is make a GOG account and download their launcher - and that’s it.

GOG really are one of the only platforms out there still championing DRM games and reviving old classics from the dead, so support them every once in a while by buying one of their non-free games and to keep the platform alive well into the future.
