With CD Projekt RED being hard at work on developing a Cyberpunk 2077 sequel (as well as The Witcher IV), a recent statement has revealed that the future is looking bright for the highly-anticipated RPG.

Thanks to the (eventual) success of Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED announced that Cyberpunk 2 was on the way back in October 2022.

With development still in its very early stages, we don’t yet know too much about what we can expect from the sequel, but with Cyberpunk 2077 cementing itself as one of the best RPGs of all time in recent years, it is safe to assume that fans will be waiting for its inevitable release.

Taking place in the futuristic metropolis of Night City, players take on the role of mercenary V who must fight against time itself after becoming the host for a killer chip that finds itself implanted in their head.

Add in Keanu Reeves taking on the role of construct Johnny Silverhand and you have one epic RPG and CDPR recently revealed that its sequel is set to follow suit.

Speaking on a Polish website, CDPR revealed that it does not plan to implement microtransactions in its single player games, but the same may not be said for any multiplayer games it releases in the future.

"We do not see a place for microtransactions in the case of single-player games, but we do not rule out that we will use this solution in the future in the case of multiplayer projects", it revealed.

Of course, this means that players will not stumble across any microtransactions in either Cyberpunk 2 or The Witcher IV which is reassuring to say the least.

However, as it stands, CDPR has not revealed a multiplayer project but with rumours that it could implement a multiplayer mode into the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, this could be bad news for players.

It remains to be seen but with Cyberpunk 2 still in early stages of development, it could be a while until we get official confirmation of any potential microtransactions.

Fingers crossed we won’t!
