Cardi B Somehow Managed To Sneak 'Modern Warfare 2' Reference Into New Music Video

Cardi B Somehow Managed To Sneak 'Modern Warfare 2' Reference Into New Music Video

Cardi B's latest music video contains a huge reference to a Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II character.

The hype surrounding Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is growing everyday, and I can totally see why. Iconic fan-favourite maps and classic killstreak rewards look set to make a return, and we could be getting a map editor for the first time ever. Let’s also not forget about that rumoured Tarkov mode.

With the game scheduled to release on 28 October, Activision’s marketing campaign is already well underway. Over the next few months, I fully expect Modern Warfare II advertisements to pop up all over the place. Well, that’s not wholly truthful. I didn’t expect to see Modern Warfare II pop up in a Cardi B music video, but here we are.

Check out Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II’s incredible Dark Water gameplay below.

Cardi B recently dropped the music video for her latest song ‘Hot S**t’ featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk, and one of the rapper’s bedazzled looks included a diamond encrusted Ghost necklace. Yes, as in Simon ‘Ghost’ Riley. That Ghost who is set to make his grand return to the franchise in Modern Warfare II.

If you’ve seen the music video, I wouldn’t blame you for doing a double take. Surely no one expected Ghost to pop up in a Cardi B project? Turns out, it’s all very official though. Call of Duty took to Twitter, writing “The real reason diamonds are a girl’s best friend. Congrats Cardi B on unlocking all the gold camos,” followed by “Fresh out of the Diamond District. Check out the making of these custom Ghost pendants.”

Unlocking all of Call of Duty’s gold camos is no joke so if it’s true that Cardi B did actually achieve such a feat, then she must be a massive fan. Then again, it could be a marketing plot. I really don’t know what to think at this point.

Cardi B did share a photo of the necklace on Twitter, accompanied by the lyric “I don’t know what’s colder, my man, my heart or my necklace.” Who knows, maybe one of us has encountered the rapper on multiplayer and we didn’t even know it.
