Call Of Duty: Warzone is perhaps not in the best position to be making jokes right now.

Between the multiple lawsuits and accusations being levelled at publisher Activision Blizzard and the overall state of the game in recent months, it's fair to say that nobody was particularly in the mood to see Warzone join the many brands online enaging in a spot of April Fools-related banter.

Take a look at some of the best Call Of Duty wins and fails below!

On April 1, also known as the most irritating day of the year for news writers, Warzone studio Raven Software decided to go the trouble of releasing a joke patch that essentially turned the battle royale into pure chaos. Only intentionally, for a change.

Predictably, the update split players right down the middle. Some praised the developer for a light-hearted update that wasn't afraid to poke fun at itself. Others felt Raven Software shouldn't be wasting time on joke patches when the game is still in need of very real fixes.

"To whoever made this April Fool's planning, well done! Hats off to you!" one user wrote on Reddit. "For all the issues with this game (which, by the way, are becoming less and less), this update was an absolute blast. The only this I hope is for it to become either periodic or a separate playlist. Thank you very much for a very fun game session!"

Another added: "I don’t think I’ve ever had this much fun in a BR. Those hot drops without the chute were so chaotic.”

It wasn't all praise, of course. "It’s one of the worst things I’ve ever had to endure in Warzone," bemoaned one unhappy player. Others responded to Raven Software's tweet announcing the update by pointing out all the things that are still wrong with the game. It really impossible to please everyone, I guess.
