Just last month, it was revealed that the highly-anticipated BioShock 4 was in “development hell” and, as a result, the Cloud Chamber first-person shooter may not arrive any time soon.
However, according to recent comments by Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, not all hope is lost.
It is hard to believe that it has been well over a decade since the latest BioShock entry, BioShock Infinite, was released as fans are still waiting for the fourth instalment in the much-loved series.
First bursting onto the scene way back in 2007, the first-person shooter series is considered as one of the best, so it is perhaps no wonder that fans are eager for more.

Despite confirmation that BioShock 4 was in development, it has been many years since we have received an official update but when we did finally receive one last month, it was not the news that we were hoping for.
It was revealed by a Bloomberg report that BioShock 4 was in “development hell” after developer Cloud Chamber underwent a leadership change following a failed publisher review.
This meant that the game would be receiving massive overhauls, including a change to its story, so we can only imagine how far this has set back development.
Nonetheless, all is not lost as, according to a recent report by Zelnick, BioShock 4 will definitely be released.

"It’s going to come out. That I can say hand on heart, without question,” he said to IGN.
He explains that the company is dedicated to making it work despite the hole left behind by the departed original BioShock creator Ken Levine.
"That said, we have very big shoes to fill on BioShock because of the legacy of Ken Levine, the legacy of what has gone before, which has been so successful," he explained.
"And we need to make sure that this experience is true to the BioShock DNA on the one hand, and a massive step forward on the other hand. That's always challenging. We think we're up to the challenge, but it has not been seamless."

You can say that again.
Well, it is good news hearing that BioShock 4 has not been completely scrapped but it remains to be seen when we can expect to see it released.
We are definitely in for the long haul here, guys.
