With the first episode of Fallout season two airing on Wednesday 17 December, Bethesda has surprised fans with a guide relating to all things Fallout so you can catch up ahead of the big premiere.

The future of Fallout is looking brighter than ever thanks to the premiere of Fallout season two, as well as the launch of both Fallout 76: Burning Springs and a major update for Fallout Shelter too.

It seems as though Bethesda is pushing for some major releases to coincide with Fallout season two which makes sense considering that player numbers for Fallout 4 shot up when the first season of the hit Prime Video show aired back in April 2024.

However, with so much happening all at once, and the second season taking us to New Vegas, a place we have not visited since Fallout: New Vegas launched in 2010, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and if you are anything like me, you need a major refresher.

Luckily, Bethesda understands our predicament and has released a guide titled “Fallout New Player” which aims to help newcomers feel welcome to the hit RPG series, especially if they are joining after watching the television series.

The guide features all you need to know about three Bethesda titles: Fallout 76, Fallout Shelter, and Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition.

It also spells out clear connections between the video game series and the TV show as well as helpful tips on getting started on each game, alongside recommendations on where to begin if you are new to the franchise.

Not only that but Bethesda is offering an in-depth review guide for Fallout 76 which includes extensive details on how to get started in the RPG, information on key features in the game such as gameplay mechanics and systems, and background on the content for the latest update, Burning Springs.

Where is Fallout: New Vegas?

However, some of you may notice that a major feature is missing here.

If Fallout season two is centered around New Vegas, why has Bethesda omitted Fallout: New Vegas from this guide?

Well, your guess is as good as mine.

Luckily, there are plenty of guides for Fallout: New Vegas online, especially considering it is widely regarded as the best in the franchise.

However, if you want an official one from Bethesda, you will have to keep waiting.

Nonetheless, the player guide can be found and downloaded here.

So if you want to catch up on all things Fallout (excluding Fallout: New Vegas), ahead of the premiere of Fallout season two, make sure to have a read through this extensive guide.
