Who wants a free video game? Of course, you do, who doesn't love a good freebie? Sadly, however, not all freebies are for everyone.

We all love video games, otherwise, we wouldn't be reading this article. Yet, if there’s one thing better than video games, it’s having video games for free. The recent freebie in question is for an awarding-winning RPG to download and keep, for some at least.

So what is the video game we speak of, I hear you ask? Well, it’s none other than Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition. Originally developed by Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Mass Effect studio, BioWare, Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn was released for PC in 2000.

This action RPG was well received at launch. On Metacritic, Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn scored highly with 95 from critics and 9.1 from users, cementing itself as one of the best-reviewed games from BioWare.

Then in 2013, this beloved RPG was made even better with the release of Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition. This enhanced version of the game came equipped with improved visuals and performance, as well as all previously released DLC, new challenges, characters, a difficulty setting, wide-screen support and much more.

If you’ve never played Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn or just want to revisit the beloved classic, then you can claim this game for free. Unfortunately, not everyone will be able to claim it, as you must be subscribed to Amazon Prime, which grants you access to Prime Gaming.

In case you didn't know, Prime Gaming is a bonus feature for Amazon Prime subscribers which gives customers free games, exclusive DLC and much more every month. So if you do subscribe to Amazon Prime and want to claim Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition at no extra cost, you have until 31 July 2023 to claim it.

Simply visit the dedicated Prime Gaming Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition website, make sure to be signed into your Amazon Prime account and hit ‘Get game’ to download. It’s also worth keeping in mind that this game is PC only.

In related Prime Gaming news, another critically acclaimed game that is up for grabs is Prey from Dishonored and Deathloop studio, Arkane. Be sure to claim that freebie before 24 July 2023.

Finally, Baldur’s Gate III is set to be released for PC and PlayStation 5 on 31 August 2023 with an Xbox Series X|S launch to follow at a later date.
