For one week only, Ubisoft is giving players the chance to dive into an multiplayer online battle arena action game for absolutely free.

Available across all platforms including PlayStation, Xbox and PC, For Honor is available for free for the next week as announced on the official For Honor Twitter account.

For PlayStation and Xbox users, the free period will be available from 24 July to 30 July. However, for PC players launching the game via Ubisoft Connect, it will be accessible from 24 July to 3 August.

The exact dates and times can be found on the announcement post and those interested can head to the official Ubisoft website to sign up for the free access period.

“Fight alone or with friends in For Honor, a third-person hero-based melee fighting game. Enter the chaos of war as a Knight, a Viking, a Samurai, a Wu Lin, or an Outlander,” the website reads.

Not only that but any progress made during the free trial will carry over if you choose to purchase the game afterwards.

So what is For Honor?

First released back in 2016 by Ubisoft, For Honor allows players to take on the roles of historical forms of soldiers and warriors such as knights, samurai, and vikings as “four of the fiercest warrior factions in history clash in an epic battle for survival”.

The third-person melee fighting game offers brutal PvP and team-oriented modes as well as a thrilling story campaign.

With 30 heroes, five factions, 18 maps, seasonal events, thousands of gear items, cross-platform play, and more, For Honor has been one of Ubisoft’s most successful releases so now would be the perfect time to try it out if you have not already.

With the game currently sitting at a 6.1 rating on Metacritic, it has had its fair share of problems but with regular content updates and a whole lot of single-player and multiplayer features to get stuck into, For Honor is definitely one you need to check out for yourself.
