Assassin’s Creed hero Ezio Auditore has returned - in the least likely of places - and fans are loving it.

While Ubisoft might not be directly working on any updates for Ezio, or returns to his debut in Assassin’s Creed II, he’s a well-loved character that has appeared countless times across other games.

Astro Bot featured bot cameos from classic games with lovely animations.

The favoured assassin even popped up a few times in the Assassin’s Creed crossover with Magic the Gathering.

Now, it seems, the assassin has snuck his way into a major Sony title, and game of the year for 2024, Astro Bot.

In the latest level released for the adorable platformer, Ezio is featured as the collectible bot.

The level, 'Armoured Hardcore', is supposedly the final challenge level coming to the game, and they saved one of the best cameo bots for last.

When Assassin’s Creed fans found out, they dashed off to their PS5 to see Ezio in all his glory.

“They nailed it,” said Bugisoft_84 in their Reddit thread showing off Astro Ezio perched on a stone column.

“Got so excited when I saw Ezio!! And love that when you hit him he does the leap of faith!” comments VelFairus.

It’s a resounding success, much like all the other cameos in the hit game, and fans are thrilled to see the little details on this iteration of Ezio.

“And it's AC2 Ezio you love to see it,” said mrnoobdude.

“I love how he even has the lip scar,” notices oceanking.

The joy of seeing other classic games within Astro Bot is delightful, and a part of me hopes they continue with a few more extra levels, but I’d say a sequel is all but guaranteed, so they’ll want to save some characters for crossovers.

This latest one has been a hit, and I’m sure fans would love to see a full Assassin’s Creed level in the future.
