When you are not taking to the skies in Destiny 2 or relaxing after a particularly taxing hunt in Monster Hunter Wilds, you can spend some time recuperating in the title’s in-game hubs.
It is here that you are able to restock supplies, pick up extra quests and most importantly, interact with other players and this is a feature which Embark Studios are hoping to adopt for ARC Raiders.
Although ARC Raiders already features a central area known as Speranza, it is currently lacking the interaction and social aspects found in titles such as Destiny and Monster Hunter.
However, according to a recent interview with Embark Studios, this is something which the extraction shooter could welcome in the future.

Speaking to PCGamesN in recent days, Virgil Watkins, design director on Arc Raiders said that the team has plans to turn Speranza into a walkable neighbourhood but as of right now, they have other priorities.
"We've 100% discussed it. I think it was like the first question asked when we started building the front end of the game”, he explained.
"'What would that experience be like?' It always came down to time and scope for us."
It makes sense that Embark Studios has other priorities first with many players reporting ongoing glitches and exploits throughout ARC Raiders.
After all, being able to interact with other players is all well and good but a game working fairly with top performance is always going to be a priority.

Nevertheless, as an avid Destiny 2 player, I have always enjoyed hanging out at The Tower and seeing what other players have been getting up to, and especially what they are wearing.

The Future Is Looking Bright
With ARC Raiders already encouraging communication with other players (shoutout to all the enemy players who let you extract with them), it would make sense for a social hub to be implemented in the future.
"Personally, I love the vibe and aesthetic of a walkable hub," Watkins continued.
"But I would want to preserve the menu-ing so that you can do it quickly and efficiently, rather than [having to] run to Celeste and then run to my [room], and then 'Oops, I forgot this thing at Shani.'
There's also, of course, an immersion factor to that."
However, fear not, as a “walkable hub” is something that Embark has discussed and will "continue to discuss” thanks to a “good appetite on the team for it as well”.
"It's more about when the right moment to open that door is."
So there you have it. With ARC Raiders continuing to evolve, and its popularity far from dwindling, it seems as though the future is looking bright for the much-loved extraction shooter.
