This upcoming indie game is putting a unique spin on Animal Crossing’s cutesy, life-sim vibes (by, naturally, blending the genre with horror).
What do you get when you blend a life-sim like Animal Crossing with the type of gore and horror you’d expect to see in your average Resident Evil game?
Personally it’s not a question that I’d ever thought to ask, but I’m glad the developers behind Fractured Blooms are.
I’ve had my eye on this one for quite a while now, and one of the main reasons I'm excited for this one is the publisher that's behind it; Serenity Forge.

These guys have published some of the best indie games to come out of the last decade, including a few that I consider all-time greats, such as Doki Doki Literature Club Plus!, Slay the Princess, and Tacoma.

Although it currently still has no release date, the devs have just released a demo for Fractured Blooms on Steam, and it’s already getting heaps of positive feedback.
As of writing, the freshly released demo is currently sitting at a "Very Positive" score, with 91% of the reviews being positive.

Here’s what the folks over on Steam are saying about it.
“I went from Interested to fully invested in this game. This is actually going to be one for the books!” commented Steam user Waddles.
“That was an amazing experience, Like I'm speechless. Very cool plot and I do wonder what the different endings and paths you can take”, writes Steam user Darkmoonsoulfox.
“I recommend you all to try this demo out! This terrified me and I love horror stuff! Haptic feedback was pretty cool on controller.

"Cant wait till the full game releases!”
“A really cool and unique horror game. As someone who is getting into horror games this really blew my mind. Also as a chef i love the cooking element. Amazing demo and cant wait to play it once its fully out”, commented Steam user KingBob2505.
If you’re as keen to get your hands on this one as I am, then you better hope you’re either on PC or you’re an Xbox Series X or Xbox Series S owner, because it doesn’t seem that it’ll be coming to either PS5 or the Nintendo Switch.
Hopefully the demo’s release means that a release date announcement is on its way soon, especially considering how polished it already looks. Fingers crossed that the devs are almost there.
