Andrew Garfield Says He's Definitely Up For Another Spider-Man Movie

Could The Amazing Spider-Man 3 finally come to pass?

This article contains big spoilers for Spider-Man: No Way Home!

I'm just going to come out and say it: I think Andrew Garfield stole the show in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

The latest Marvel Cinematic Universe Spidey flick was an epic multiversal adventure that brought together villains and heroes from past Spider-Man films. The most exciting moment for longtime fans, of course, was seeing Tom Holland's incumbent webhead team up with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's versions of the webbed hero.

Holland took his Spider-Man to new heights in No Way Home. And Maguire shone as he always does, obviously. But it was Garfield in particular who won audiences over, bringing the deeply endearing energy of an awkward middle child who doesn't live up to his older or younger siblings.

Of the three actors, Garfield radiated an infectious love of Spider-Man. You really got the feeling that he was just happy to be there, and ended up the undeniable highlight of the entire movie as a result.

Unsurprisingly, it wasn't long after No Way Home hit cinemas that fans, reminded of just how great Andrew Garfield truly is in the role, started clamoring for The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

Let's not beat around the bush here: The Amazing Spider-Man 2 was a crap movie and Sony made the right call when it opted for a Tom Holland reboot in the MCU. But Garfield was done dirty, and absolutely deserves to star in another solo movie somewhere down the line. Fortunately, the man himself seems up for returning.

“I mean, yes, definitely open to something if it felt right," Garfield said in an interview with Variety. "Peter and Spider-Man, those characters are all about service, to the greater good and the many. He’s a working-class boy from Queens that knows struggle and loss and is deeply empathetic. I would try to borrow Peter Parker’s ethical framework in that, if there was an opportunity to step back in and tell more of that story, I would have to feel very sure and certain in myself.”

While the next MCU Spider-Man movie will pick up with Tom Holland's version of the hero, it's clear now that there's room in the multiverse for more than one Spidey. Let's hope we haven't see the last of the Amazing Mr Garfield, eh?
