It’s been revealed that Ella Purnell will play a lead role in Amazon’s upcoming Fallout TV series. While we know quite a bit about the lead Fallout protagonists thanks to the games, we don’t have any concrete information on if Purnell will be playing the role of any of the known characters, or if we’ll be seeing a brand new one.

Industry personality Geoff Keighley made the announcement via his personal Twitter account. Deadline also corroborated the news, stating that Purnell will be playing a woman by the name of Jean, though that has not been officially confirmed by Amazon.

If you think you know Ella Purnell, chances are you do! She voiced Jinx in Netflix’s popular Arcane series. Check out the trailer below for an insight into her acting chops.

As well as starring in Arcane, Purnell is also known for Yellowjackets, Kick-Ass 2 and Army Of The Dead where she played Dave Bautista’s daughter Kate Ward. Interestingly enough, Army Of The Dead won the first ever fan favourite award at this year’s Oscars. Not that anybody was talking about anything other than… The incident.

It was recently revealed that Walton Goggins will also star in the show, so it’s likely that it will focus on a number of survivors, possibly as a group, rather than just one lone protagonist. A sole survivor, if you will. Amazon’s Fallout series was first announced way back in 2020 and details have been relatively scarce since then. We know that Westworld creator Jonathan Nolan will direct the first episode, which is fitting given Fallout’s dystopian and bleak setting. You’d imagine Nolan’s style would mesh rather well.

As for when we’ll see Goggins and Purnell in action? We have no idea, sadly. Amazon is likely very busy with the upcoming release of its Lord Of The Rings series The Rings Of Power which will be coming our way on September 2, 2022.
