A ‘Money Heist’ Game Is Coming, And It Looks Incredible

Money Heist, also known as La Casa de Papel, is one of Netflix’s most popular series. Originally intended to be a limited series, Money Heist has gone on to spawn five ‘parts’ thanks to its huge popularity, and we’re so glad it has.

If you haven’t yet seen the show, that needs to change. The Spanish drama follows a group of robbers as they burgle the country’s Royal Mint and the Bank of Spain. Thanks to the clever use of flashbacks, an unreliable narrator and time jumps, Money Heist manages to weave together a complex and thrilling tale - and now it’s being adapted into a stealth-based game.

Check out the reveal trailer for Netflix’s La Casa De Papel: Money Heist below.

The game is being developed by Netflix and indie studio Killasoft for their mobile gaming platform. Revealed during the streamer’s annual Geeked Week, the short trailer showcased La Casa De Papel: Money Heist’s gorgeous 2D art style. In a tweet, Netflix simply teased, “It's time to put on the Dali mask. A La Casa De Papel game is on its way to Netflix.”

We don’t know a ton about this title yet but it has been teased to be a stealth-based game and will feature a new storyline set within the world of Money Heist. As players carry out high-stakes heists, they’ll have to disable and hack security systems, crawl through vents, and quietly take out guards. The trailer also shows characters donning the infamous Dali mask and red jumpsuit as they gather a group of hostages.

During the Geeked Week livestream, developers also teased that the game would include lock and safe picking minigames, in addition to various shooting sequences. In terms of a release date, we know that the game is “coming soon”. Well as a fan of stealth games, they’ve already got my interest.
