Red Dead Redemption fans left heartbroken over latest announcement

Do they not love us anymore?

Red Dead Redemption fans are sad and upset. After an announcement from Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games, some players took to Reddit to lament being left behind.

It’s not much of a surprise, Rockstar Games is fully focused on GTA VI and locked in to get that game shipped on time, but many are wondering why Red Dead Redemption is seemingly left in the dust.

For the love of God, give us another trailer to put here, please Rockstar, I beg

The announcement boiled down to Take-Two putting out an annual report and confirming their goal for GTA VI to release in the “Fall of calendar 2025”.

This sparked fans of Cowboys and the Wild West to comment, “RDR sold 60 million copies and they've given that game so little love... that hurts me.”

They do have a point. Aside from the regular updates to Red Dead Online, the game hasn’t received the kind of support many fans would like to see.

Including this one who said, “Story mode players have begged for story DLC on both GTA5 and RDR2 for years.”

While Red Dead Redemption 2 is considered a masterpiece by many, fans expected it to be supported beyond what Rockstar Games has shown.

Perhaps the company saw it as a one-and-done opportunity, however, over 60 million fans would love to see their favourite get some attention.

“They just abandoned the online completely, and no next-gen updates kills me.” said MidEastBeast777 in their reply.

Another user said, “RDR2 as a game just surpasses the previous GTA’s in so many aspects.”

It’s clear that the community wants more, but has that horse already bolted?

Rockstar Games has built itself up to be a company that makes masterpieces and that takes time and energy. It’s hard to juggle multiple projects at the best of times.

As one Redditor also puts it, “People are so used to being sold a game in chunks that when they’re sold a game that’s complete they think it’s “abandoned”.
