Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection: PC gaming’s newest jewel

Well charted at this point

The incredible Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and its wonderful spinoff title The Lost Legacy have come to PC in the form of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, a two-game bundle that arrived on PlayStation 5 earlier this year, and it’s safe to say these two games deserve their ports.

In his review of the PS5 release, GAMINGbible’s own Ewan Moore declared Legacy of Thieves a “must-play”, and scored it 9/10. Playing on PC, I can confidently back Ewan’s analysis, because both games look better than ever before.

Playing in delicious QHD, both Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy are sights to behold. From the stunning details of Nate’s face in cutscenes, to the lush greenery of the Indian peninsula, every detail is brought to life.

In terms of gameplay, it’s very much what we were served up when the games were initially released back in 2016 and 2017 respectively. The grappling, climbing and platforming are smooth - mostly, anyway - and the over-the-shoulder gunplay is comfortable and satisfying.

Although I did encounter a few stutters during Uncharted 4, mainly during the opening cutscenes in and around the orphanage, my overall experience with Legacy of Thieves is one of a fluid, dynamic feel.

During the faster gameplay sections, such as Chloe’s chase sequence over the city rooftops at the start of Lost Legacy, everything was rendered to perfection, and the janky moments I remember from back when I first played it pm PS4 were nowhere to be found, although I could just be a better player after all these years, right?

If you’ve not played either of the two games in this bundle before but you’ve enjoyed what PlayStation has brought to PC thus far, I implore you to give Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection a whirl, even if you’ve never played an Uncharted game before.

The intuitive platforming, fantastical stories and simple but effective combat all combine to serve up a thrilling, Indiana Jones-esque gaming experience that you just won’t get anywhere else. Well, except on PlayStation consoles.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection releases for PC on 19th October, 2022. Game tested with code provided by the publisher.
