Red Dead Redemption 2 alternate mission ending uncovered after five years

Red Dead Redemption 2 alternate mission ending uncovered after five years

An alternate ending to a Red Dead Redemption 2 mission is blowing our minds

Red Dead Redemption 2 is still finding new ways to surprise us over five years later, this time with an alternate ending for a side quest.

While Red Dead Redemption 2’s main story is phenomenal, and one of the best written tales in gaming, it’s really the side content where the game truly shines.

Check out some these hilarious Red Dead Redemption 2 Wins & Fails below

We’ve written about some of the cool stuff you can find in the game’s open world before, but this might just be the best example of how much effort the developers at Rockstar Games put into the game, and this time we’re not talking about horse testicles.

Regardless of whether you’re playing as Arthur or John, you can take up bounties to hunt down criminals dead or alive.

One such bounty is Mark Johnson, a man who attempted to leave his life of crime behind to settle down and raise a family, which sounds a little familiar…

Anyway, you can Johnson with his family and usually bring him in without any trouble, but as one player showcased in a YouTube video, you can get a few variations of the quest depending on the choices you make.

If you shoot his wife before bringing him in there’ll be different dialogue between the two outlaws, and you can even apologise for it by visiting him in his jail cell after the arrest.

If you then wait a few days, you’ll find him minutes away from being hanged giving you the option to save him, release him, and send him back to his son as a way to right your wrongs.

Most players probably won’t have noticed any of this, as most of the time you’d just bag the bounty, collect your reward and ride off into the sunset.

It’s simply another example of what a fantastic game Red Dead Redemption 2 is, and if GTA VI has even half of its open-world interactivity fans will be in for a real treat.
