Microsoft is giving away $2 million in a brand-new sweepstake, via Microsoft Rewards, and you can enter right now, for a chance to win your share.

This is very similar to a sweepstake the company has done before, however where Microsoft last gave away $1 million in prizes, they’re upping the stakes.

Earn Microsoft points on your Xbox and enter the big sweepstake

Entering the sweepstakes is as simple as signing in to your Microsoft account - something that every Xbox player has.

The full details are over on the Microsoft Rewards website, where the information breaks down that one lucky winner will snag $1 million all to themselves.

The other $1 million will be split between another 100 winners. You might as well enter, and put your name in the hat, because you never know if it might be your lucky day.

Over on Reddit, Xbox and Microsoft fans are shocked to see such a big prize, with many of them not feeling particularly optimistic about the chance of winning.

“MORE money for me to not win!” exclaimed one Redditor in reply to hearing news of the giveaway.

“Never win these things, but it's nice to dream,” replies AVarietyStreamer.

The chances of winning are, of course, minimal, however, someone has to win, right?

Imagine you’re sat there one day, suddenly you get an email, and you’ve won a share of a million dollars.

That’s got to be worth the small amount of effort in entering the sweepstake.

It should be noted that entering does mean paying a small entry fee in Microsoft Reward points, a bit like buying a lottery ticket.

However, free entries can be claimed by sharing the sweepstake with friends and family.

As one Redditor points out, “You can enter without using points, FYI. I just did and got 15 tickets for the hell of it. Will let you all know when I win this one.”
