People are still yapping on about Stranger Things Conformity Gate theories, and this one I spotted online this morning was... sigh. Maybe it's time to accept Stranger Things isn't getting a secret good final episode?
Netflix's hit series finally drew to a close after over a decade on New Year’s Eve, in an episode that I personally found largely satisfying.
I acknowledge, however, that I’m in a minority, with many people bending over backwards to convince themselves and others that a secret finale is set to launch in the near future.
It’s this belief which has gone on to be known as Confomity Gate.

Originally, believers thought the bonus episode might land on 7 January. It didn’t.
Their sights were then set to 12 January when a behind the scenes documentary, One Last Adventure, was dropped. It was not accompanied by a bonus episode.
It’s time you accept, my friends, there is no bonus episode.

By all accounts, it does look like the Duffers had a difference of opinion on how to end the show, resulting in many interactions of the finale. That could explain why some didn’t feel quite satisfied with the end result.
It doesn’t mean though that a magical new episode will appear.
Even still, Conformity Gate theories haven’t completely quelled and one of the latest surrounds Mike Wheeler actor Finn Wolfhard.
Conformity Gate is More of a Meme at This Point Than a Theory With Traction
This theory originated with Twitter/X user BurritoGlasses.

“It's Saturday, January 17th. Finn Wolfhard is hosting SNL. The studio has been darker than usual all night. It's almost over,” they begin.
“Finn: ‘Thanks for having me on. It's been a pl’ ... *clock chime*. Suddenly, all lights in the studio cease to exist. Absolute darkness.
“The clock continues to chime as a single, slightly blue tinted spotlight begins to brighten over Finn. Particles and dust fill the beam of light illuminating him. He glances quickly around the room, unsure what's going on.
“Finn's head then violently snaps back, eyes rolling into his head. The audience gasps as Finn collapses to the floor. The show is over.

“Two hours later on Netflix: ‘WAKE UP MIKE.’”
I only have praise for this person’s imagination but I hope I don’t have to explain why this is utterly farfetched.
The tweet has amassed thousands of likes but those have surely got to be for its entertainment factor rather than any sense of genuine support.
“I adore your mind so much you've been absolutely cooking with these theories. I wish the Duffers had half your talent, really,” wrote user nekt_arrr in response.

“You seriously COOKED! When I see how talented & creative this fandom is, I get even more pissed at the Duffers, y’all are soo much better than them,” added BaralSayantanee.
Listen - kudos to the vision. I respect and admire your creativity. If this happened, I think it'd be unbelievably hype.
I’m really not sure I’m seeing eye to eye with any of this. Please, can we let Conformity Gate go and just think back on what a wonderful ride Stranger Things has been?
