Star Wars major Yoda reveal slammed: 'I find it hard to accept'

Knew them all, he did

Star Wars fans are lamenting the size of the universe as it seems everyone just knows everybody else, with one fan taking umbrage over a friendship that many thought wasn’t possible.

Yoda has lived for hundreds of years, so he’s been around, met plenty of folks, and fought side-by-side with several other beloved Star Wars characters.

Over on Reddit, RealisticAd4054 says, “[I] still find it hard to accept that Yoda was pals with Chewbacca before the Original Trilogy.”

They go on to note, “This is something so contrived for the sake of fan service,” which, to be honest, could be said of a lot of Star Wars material in the past 10 years.

While it’s no surprise that Yoda knows everyone, this point makes several fans mad because it makes the galaxy feel a lot smaller than it should.

Many are wondering why Chewbacca never mentioned this connection with Han Solo, especially after meeting Luke Skywalker and seeing his Jedi potential.

One fan comments, “Could be that Chewbacca kept his mouth shut about the Jedi to avoid any potentially dangerous information getting out.”

“Yeah, Star Wars isn't kicking those allegations of having a "small universe" problem anytime soon,” said AceOfDymonds.

Of course, the rest of the Reddit thread features fans making jokes about Yoda, many of which are pretty entertaining.

“Yoda is almost 800 years old. Chewbacca is 200. All old people know each other,” remarks CrossP.

“Good relations with the wookies he had,” says the top reply.

As George Lucas and later Disney put things together, fan service was always going to happen, as people just enjoy seeing characters they love finally meet.

I did love this comment from Lornesto who simply said, “Chewbacca is the Forrest Gump of Star Wars.” I’m still giggling at this now, knowing that Chewy has just been everywhere.
