Well, according to a recent announcement John Boyega's Finn and Naomi Ackie's Jannah will be returning courtesy of the first new novel set after the events of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

It has been six years since The Rise of the Skywalker left us with more questions than answers but hopefully, this upcoming release will shed some light on what happened to Finn and Jannah after the events of the movie.

Written by best-selling author Kwame Mbalia and set to be released on 21 October, this upcoming novel from Penguin/Random House takes place after the fall of the First Order.

“Following the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the Resistance rescues a ship full of young passengers who had been kidnapped by the First Order,” the official synopsis reads.

As Finn and Jannah set out to find the First Order officer responsible before he can endanger any more children, the two former stormtroopers must wrestle with their own complicated pasts as soldiers of the oppressive regime.

Take a deep dive into the pasts of popular characters Finn and Jannah in this richly-drawn, action-packed story that fans have been asking for.”

Titled Star Wars: The Last Order, the young-adult novel may not be for everyone, but it does hint at the possibility of Finn and Jannah returning in a future movie. After all, why else would the story have been commissioned?

Nevertheless, we will have to wait until October this year to see what is next for the two former Stormtroopers when Star Wars: The Last Order is released across all major bookstores.
