Despite the sad news that The Acolyte would not be getting a second season, it seems as though another Star Wars show is set to begin filming its next season very soon.

Airing in August 2023, Ahsoka is another of Star Wars various television projects by Disney and after a successful first season, its second was confirmed in January of this year.

Check out the official trailer for Ahsoka below!

Season one told the story of former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano, played by Rosario Dawson, who investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

With Hayden Christensen returning as Anakin Skywalker, it was perhaps no wonder that Ahsoka was a hit and that is why fans are eager to hear when they can look forward to its second season.

Luckily, it seems as though filming is not too far away thanks to a recent comment by Ahsoka star Natasha Liu Bordozzo.

The actress who plays Sabine Wren in the show recently spoke at a panel at Dragon Con 2024 in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to Bordozzo, filming for Ahsoka season two will begin once filming for The Mandalorian and Grogu ends.

For those who didn’t know, The Mandalorian and Grogu is the next feature film for Lucasfilms and is set to arrive in cinemas on 22 May, 2026.

Although this date seems a little bit far away, filming for it is expected to wrap up at the end of 2024 which means that filming for Ahsoka season two will follow shortly after.

Ahsoka, who was first introduced in 2008's Star Wars: The Clone Wars, welcomed her own television series thanks to Lucasfilm CEO Dave Filoni.

With fans happy to see an already-established Star Wars character have her very own series, it is perhaps not surprising that its popularity gained it a second season.
