Star Wars fans praise a perfect recast following the death of a beloved actor who we lost way too soon.
Born in Lisburn, Northern Ireland, on 25 May 1964, Ray Stevenson sadly passed away on 21 May 2023, just four days before his 59th birthday.
Ray Stevenson was a talented actor known for his roles as Volstagg in the Thor MCU movies, Isaac Sirko on the Dexter TV series and Baylan Skoll in the Disney Plus series, Ahsoka, to name a few.

Stevenson’s role as Baylan Skoll, a former Jedi Knight turned to the Dark Side of the Force, was one of the standout performances in Ahsoka, alongside Rosario Dawson.
Ahsoka will return for a second season of the Star Wars series, and so too will the Baylan Skoll character. But whoever was cast to replace the late Ray Stevenson has big shoes to fill.
However, an actor has been cast to play Baylan Skoll, and I can think of no one better, to be honest. The actor in question is Rory McCann, perhaps best known for his role as Sandor “The Hound” Clegane in the TV series Game of Thrones.

“His [Baylan Skoll] story has a lot more that needs to be told. He was the best part of season one. I’m looking forward to how they will continue it in season two. Rory seems to respect the role, and I think he will nail it,” explained Redditor infecktd.
“He's a great fit to take over the role, in my opinion. I believe he can bring the same gravitas to his performance as Ray did,” replied CrazyCanuckUncleBuck.
“He kinda looks the part better than I initially thought,” said Clump, with Dankecheers adding, “He will be great.”
We’ll update once we know the release date for season two of Ahsoka. In the meantime, you can catch up with the entire Star Wars saga on Disney Plus.
