We just got our first proper look at two of Fox's X-Men actors on the set of the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Avengers: Doomsday, and fans are mostly just happy to see that Disney is doing their characters justice.

Over the weekend, a picture from the set of Avengers: Doomsday leaked featuring James Marsden’s Cyclops and Ian McKellen’s Magneto just chilling in the open.

It looks like they’re on the part of the set that leaked towards the end of last week too, so it seems filming for the production is focusing on the X-Men side of things for now.

This is undoubtedly why Disney chose to reveal that the Fox X-Men cast would be returning ahead of time, because it’s pretty hard to hide location shots outdoors.

Over on the r/MarvelStudiosSpoilers subreddit, MCU fans are happy to see that they’re sticking to older designs for the Fox X-Men cast.

“Nice to see McKellan back in that garb. Never thought I’d see that again,” commented user Past-Banana-6314.

“And I hope they give Mardsen a juicy role. He deserves it.”

“Ian McKellen is honestly the person I’m most excited to see from the cast list we have so far,” replied user Reality314.

“Magneto’s one of my favorite characters of all time and I loved McKellen’s portrayal of him. It’s surreal to see him and so many of the older Fox X-Men back.”

I should note, a few folks online have stated that this leak is actually fake, mostly because Ian McKellen was spotted on the same day of the leak at a community event in London… sporting a beard.

However, I think it’s actually somewhere between the two.

On closer inspection, I don’t think the actor in the leaked picture is Ian McKellen, but I do think that’s 100% James Marsden.

If I had to take a guess, I reckon that’s just McKellen’s stunt double. They’re probably shooting some establishing shots, or maybe they’re just shooting a scene in which McKellen doesn’t have any lines, so they probably didn’t actually need him on set.

I’m sure there will be more leaks from the set in like twenty minutes anyway, so this’ll get proven or disproven in a matter of days regardless.
