The MCU may have found its Rogue, and she's an inspired choice

We don't think anybody will be angry at that

With the X-Men reboot on the horizon, fans are understandably eager to learn which famous faces will be taking on some of the most iconic roles in the superhero genre.

However, with no director attached and no official confirmation of a single role, any information we do have about the X-Men reboot has been down to rumours and insider leaks.

In the meantime, check out the trailer for X-Men '97 below!

Up until now, actors such as Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) are rumoured to be taking on the role of Jean Grey, Harris Dickinson (Babygirl, The Iron Claw) or Jack Champion (Scream 6, Avatar) as Cyclops, Hunter Schafer (Euphoria) as Mystique, and Ayo Edebiri (The Bear) as Storm, to name but a few.

Now, there is a new actor rumoured to be joining the cast and it is one of Hollywood’s most sought after faces.

It is none other than Margaret Qualley who movie fans recently fell in love with following her supporting role in 2024’s The Substance.

According to The Hot Mic’s Jeff Sneider, Qualley is being eyed for the role of Rogue in the X-Men reboot and as one of the most iconic heroes on the team, these are some big shoes to fill.

Portrayed by Anna Paquin in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men series, Rogue, real name Anna Marie, has yet to be portrayed canonically accurate on the big screen but fans are hoping that Qualley will have what it takes to bring the Southern belle to life whilst remaining true to the comics.

As for the X-Men reboot itself, we don’t know much.

We know that Marvel Studios now owns the rights to the franchise and we also know that Michael Lesslie (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) will be in charge of the script.

Other than that, we are pretty in the dark despite the project being announced back in March 2024.

However, according to Sneider’s co-host Rocha, we can expect to see X-Men 2-3 months after Avengers: Secret Wars hits cinemas in 2027.

If true, this is one hell of a wait but with the original X-Men franchise including hit or miss entries, it is better to be safe than sorry when it comes to adapting such a beloved story.
