MCU fans lose it as Hawkeye's return quietly teased

The next season of Hawkeye is reportedly in the works, and it has a very exciting premise if rumours are to be believed.

Out of all the Disney+ series Hawkeye is one that you tend to hear quite a few positives out of, as while it tied into some of the wider Marvel Cinematic Universe stories and characters it was just a fun series that gave one of the most underrated Avengers his time to shine.

It also gave us the first MCU appearance of Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin, who’s back as the New York Mayor in Daredevil: Born Again

Details on the second season of Hawkeye are slim but rumour has it that the main plot will be an MCU take on Die-Hard with Clint Barton and Kate Bishop trapped in a building somewhere being chased by threats.

Take it with a pinch of salt of course as nothing has been confirmed as of yet but it sounds like a promising story.

Fans were quick to break down the rumour, especially how it could be yet another MCU Christmas release: “Die Hard? So it's gonna take place around Christmas again?!”

“All I needed to hear was Hawkeye season 2” said another comment, and others said “one whole season in 24 hours for them heck yeah!”

Personally I’m all for more street-level superhero stories, and with Daredevil: Born Again potentially bringing back more Defenders characters through its second season it’d be great to see some crossover.

Imagine a face-off between Bullseye and Hawkeye? It’d be a hell of a match-up and it’s believed Bullseye is an assassin in the MCU nowadays, meaning he could fit into the story well.

Hopefully we get more information on the upcoming second series later this year, perhaps through another showcase or a post-credit scene.
