MCU fans concerned for 'missing' Avengers as new lineup announced

There's no way this is the full cast, right?

Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are baffled that so many important heroes seem to be missing from the recently announced line-up for Avengers: Doomsday, sparking concerns that certain stars aren’t planning to return for the foreseeable future.

Disney treated us to perhaps the most boring live-stream of all time last night so that they could reveal the entire cast list for Avengers: Doomsday, proving that MCU fans will watch any old slop if you imply a Marvel character might show up.

The official cast is absolutely massive, but simultaneously lacking so many names that fans were certain would appear.

If you take a peek through the comments of this post from the official Marvel Studios Twitter account, they’re all almost exclusively just from fans clamouring for information about who was omitted.

"Did you forget some?" commented user @djtickle, "Spider-Man, Wanda, Strange, Hulk, Starlord, Hawkeye, Vision, Wolverine, Deadpool, Nick Fury, Captain Marvel or Warmachine."

"You forgot Star Lord, Dr. Strange, Spiderman and Hawkeye guys," replied user @Asensii20.

Take a look at the announcement below.

Admittedly, I would be surprised if this is actually the full cast list for Avengers: Doomsday. If actors like Charlie Cox’s Daredevil, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine or Chris Evans’ Steve Rogers are going to pop up in the film, Disney probably wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise of them appearing ahead of time.

Also, some characters are just off doing stuff that isn’t going to fit in the context of the film. For instance, War Machine just found out he was replaced by a Skrull for years, and I’m pretty sure Scarlet Witch is just straight up dead.

That being said, yeah, certain omissions are just weird. Spider-Man not popping up is an odd choice, considering how important it would be for Peter Parker to see Tony Stark’s face.

I’m sure there are still a bunch of surprises still in store though, but we’ll probably have to wait until we can actually watch the film to find out for sure.
