There is just over a year to go until the Avengers are finally back and after a seven-year hiatus, fans are eager to meet the new team.

With 2019’s Avengers: Endgame taking the world by storm, it is no wonder that Marvel fans are eagerly anticipating the next instalment in the franchise.

Check out the last Avengers entry, Avengers: Endgame, in the trailer below!

Not only will this be the first Avengers movie in Phase Six, but it will also introduce a brand-new team with the heroes expected to go up against Robert Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom.

Other than that, Marvel Studios is keeping things close to its chest but with filming expected to start this summer, it won’t be long before set images keep the fans satiated until Avengers: Doomsday hits cinemas on 1 May 2026.

Now thanks to a recent report by The Hollywood Reporter, we now have an update from the Russo brothers themselves.

When asked about the upcoming Avengers movie, the director pair said the following: "These movies are going to be a surprise to people. We found a way into the story that's very exciting to us ... but very radical ... we think it's going to challenge audiences.”

However, when asked about specific characters or even if any of the new X-Men characters would be introduced, the pair skilfully dodged the question.

Joe Russo finally said, “Anybody in the Marvel bag could show up in this movie,” with the brothers even adding that they don’t even know who could turn up altogether.

In response to the news, fans were hyped and took to social media to share their thoughts.

“Radical? Guess we’re in for a wild ride,” one user commented.

Swissdreamer added, “Oh god yes!! I trust the Russos. They did the best storytelling in the MCU! The Winter Soldier, Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame!”
