Marvel Comics has unveiled its new Winter Soldier and understandably, fans are losing it.

Without question, the Adamantium-reinforced Wolverine is one of the most popular characters in the world of Marvel Comics and after waiting what felt like an eternity, we got Hugh Jackman’s Logan and Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson teaming up in the MCU with Deadpool & Wolverine.

It’s certainly an exciting time for Marvel fans now that this dynamic duo is officially in the MCU. However, let’s not forget where it all started, in the traditional comic book format but this new version of Wolverine is anything but traditional and we love it!

Marvel Comics has announced its latest issue of its ‘Ultimate’ series and in it, Wolverine is the new Winter Soldier.

“In order to maintain control of their corner of the Maker’s world, three members of his council – Magik, Colossus and Omega Red – deploy their most lethal asset: The Winter Soldier! But WHO is the weapon behind the mask?” reads a tweet from the official Marvel Comics account.

“Wolvie as the Winter Soldier? I'm so in,” replied TheMirroredOne.

“This is so cool. Instant buy!” declared KamCross_Comics.

“Marvel's response to Absolute Batman?” suggested TheRealZarp.

“The Winter Soldier is a codename for a special agent/soldier of the Soviets, in this case, Wolverine (whether it is actually Logan or someone else) is their Winter Soldier for the Rasputins,” claimed Redditor BroadRed.

“It’s gonna be an amalgamation and more in line with Wolverine from the animated series in which his past is unknown and can be fabricated,” MrDrPepper1998 speculated. “Like maybe, he remembers serving with Captain America, but what if Cap doesn't remember?”

Written by Chris Condon and artwork created by Alessandro Cappuccio, Ultimate Wolverine will be available in January 2025 wherever you buy your comic books.
