The MCU is having a big shake up when it comes to its cast and characters so it is no surprise that one key actor is already being eyed for another potential leading role.

Best known for his role as Superman in the DCU in movies such as Man of Steel and Justice League, recent rumours have hinted at Henry Cavill making his move to the Marvel Cinematic Universe to take on an iconic role.

Better yet, it seems as though a large majority of fans are on board with the idea.

The English actor, who more recently starred in Netflix’s The Witcher adaptation, has reportedly been in talks with Marvel Studios about taking on a major role in the MCU.

None other than Captain Britain himself.

As a title used by various superheroes across Marvel Comics, Captain Britain is most commonly associated with Brian Braddock, a once-normal guy who answered the call to heroism by taking on the role to protect the United Kingdom.

As the younger twin-brother of X-Men member Psylocke, Dr. Brian Braddock was always destined for greatness and began his journey as the defender of Earth-616 and the British Isles.

Now it seems as though Cavill could be taking on the iconic role.

Although these talks between Marvel Studios and Cavill have not yet been confirmed by either party, the rumour has still spread to r/Avengers where fans have been expressing their thoughts on the potential casting.

“I am a big fan of the casting of Cavill as Capt. Britain,” user ugbaz wrote.

“I would love to see Millie Bobby Brown as Betsy Braddock. The two actors had great chemistry in Enola Holmes. Gary Oldman as Merlin would be my fancast.”

User Timeman5 agreed, saying, “I’m good with that”.

For user GriveousDance21, the casting can be summed up with an iconic line from 2024’s Deadpool & Wolverine in relation to Cavill migrating from the DCU to MCU.

“"I must say, sir, I'm a huge fan. We're gonna treat you so much better than those s**tf**ks down the street!"”, they quoted.

With so many fans on board with the idea, let us hope that the confirmation is announced soon.
