Earlier this week saw fans receive their first look at the two actors who will be taking on the roles of Link and Zelda in the upcoming The Legend of Zelda live-action movie.

Reported by Nintendo itself, who will be collaborating with Sony Pictures to bring this movie to life, it has been revealed that 16-year-old British actor Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will take on the role of Link whilst 21-year-old English actor Bo Bragason will be our Zelda.

The movie, which is set to be produced by Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto, is set to hit cinemas on 7 May 2027 so it is still in the early stages of production.

As a result, we do not yet know which other famous faces will be joining Ainsworth and Bragason in some of gaming’s most iconic roles.

For example, who will play Ganon in The Legend of Zelda?

As mentioned, that role has not yet been revealed but that has not stopped fans from coming together to put their fan-casts forward and as a result, there is quite a bit of division.

“I don't have high hopes or expectations for the movie itself, but generally I find it pretty cool when these largely fresh faces are cast in these big roles,” user Krekenn commented over on r/TwoBestFriendsPlay.

“I assume that Ganon is likely gonna be played by a big name. King Harkinian too.”

“Jason Momoa as Ganondorf,” one user added.

Another said, “Give me Charles Dance.”

For user TheArtistFKAMinty, they hope that Ganon’s casting will follow that of Link and Zelda.

“Tbh, I kinda hope it's somebody relatively unknown,” they shared.

“That's the direction they've gone with Zelda and Link so I think it'd be cool if it wasn't a "name".”

It remains to be seen which famous face, or maybe not so famous, will take on the role of the mighty Ganon but with it being just under two years until The Legend of Zelda hits cinemas, we still have a long way to go.
