Henry Cavill confirms his Warhammer series has officially begun work

The time for speeches is done ... after you read this one from Henry Cavill

Things were looking a little touch and go for a second there, but we finally have confirmation from the Man of Steel himself that Amazon’s Warhammer 40,000 series is officially moving forward.

Henry Cavill recently shared the good news in the dorkiest, most wholesome Instagram post imaginable.

“To celebrate some Warhammer news, I decided to make a pilgrimage to the very first place I bought Warhammer models over 30 years ago....the Little Shop, on my home island of Jersey!” he revealed in a post on his official Instagram account.

“My incredible team and I, alongside the brilliant minds at Games Workshop, have been working away in concept rooms, breaking down approaches to the enormity and magnificence of the Warhammer world. Together, we've been sifting through the plethora of incredible characters and poring over old tomes and texts.”

The most important part of the quote is this last bit though, as it officially confirms that the show will be moving forward.

“Our combined efforts have led us to a fantastic place to start our Universe,” Cavill continued, “which has been agreed upon by those up on high at both Amazon and Games Workshop. That starting place shall, for now, remain a secret. Watch this space, though—more to come in time!”

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II is a must-play.

Now, if you’re curious as to why this is a big deal considering that work on the Warhammer 40,000 series was confirmed a long time ago… well, it actually was a bit up in the air until now.

As stated back in August, Amazon and Games Workshop hadn’t actually come to an official agreement regarding the adaptation.

Games Workshop even set a deadline for the agreement, and revealed in the statement that the series would “only proceed if the creative guidelines are mutually agreed between Games Workshop and Amazon".

That deadline was, funnily enough, December 2024. Cutting it a little close there, Supes.

Thankfully, Games Workshop backed up Cavill’s Instagram post with an official statement on their own site last night.

They confirmed that they’ve “reached a final agreement with Amazon” and that the Warhammer 40,000 universe will be adapted into both “films and television series”.

I wonder if this means Cavill will be too busy to reprise his role as Wolverine…
