Dexter has always been a popular show, giving viewers a dark character to cheer on despite his murderous antics.

The character, portrayed by Michael C. Hall, is loved by fans of the show due to his sinister darkness and playful nature, becoming one of the most popular characters on TV.

There's some great TV on the way over on Disney+ too, with Skeleton Crew debuting soon

At the end of the last season where Dexter Morgan appeared, Dexter: New Blood, which saw the character living a quiet life in snowy upstate New York, the character was left bleeding out from a gunshot.

The last show attempted to bring Dexter back and confront his estranged son who was showing murderous tendencies, and it was a huge success.

However, Hall’s character was shot in the heart in the final episode, yet he’s appearing in the prequel show Dexter: Original Sin which shows modern day Dexter as well as a younger version of the character.

So, how has he cheated death?

The hard work of medical staff, it seems, according to a new teaser for the prequel show.

There’s a clip in the new trailer showing Dexter being frantically worked on by doctors at a nearby hospital, so it seems they got to him in time.

Michael C. Hall did touch on this in the past, teasing that the freezing weather might have played a role in keeping the serial killer alive.

It’s no surprise that Dexter is still alive, given the popularity of the show and there’s another sequel show on the way from Showtime called, Dexter: Resurrection.

There we have it. If you’re going to get shot in the heart, make sure you live in a freezing location, close enough to a hospital with amazing doctors.

Dexter: Original Sin will premiere on Paramount+ on 13 December and the sequel show, Dexter: Resurrection should debut in 2025 though shooting hasn’t started yet.
