With a solo Clayface movie underway at DC Studios, comic book fans are weighing in on the casting choice for the villain.

White everyone loves Alan Tudyk as an actor, not everyone wants him to play Clayface in a live-action Batman spin-off.

If you want to get closer to Gotham City, you can be immersed with the VR title Batman: Arkham Shadow

Tudyk has been cast as Clayface as the DCU has a rule that voice actors will play the live-action counterparts if and when the time comes.

Though, there are some who would prefer DC went in a different direction.

“Ron Perlman was the voice of Batman TAS Clayface and if only he was the same age when he played him in the 90s, I would have chosen him to play him again,” said one fan.

Another Redditor points to a different actor, saying, “Rahul Kohli should play Clayface.”

This is due to Mike Flanagan writing the screenplay and his repeated work with Kohli across various TV shows.

It’s not looking likely that Flanagan will direct, though, as the creator has a number of projects on the go.

ZzzSleep doesn’t care who plays Clayface as long as they get the role right - “If this is played straight, I hope they lean into the body horror aspect like TAS did.”

Tudyk already plays a version of Clayface in the animated Harley Quinn show.

This has one fan commenting on his previous performance, saying, “His overly hammy method actor version in the Harley Quinn cartoon is pretty fantastic.”

Alan Tudyk has commented that he will be playing this version of Clayface as a “homicidal maniac” so it will take some new range from him.

One thing the community can agree on is the inclusion of Mike Flanagan, who has cemented himself as a horror legend.

“You had me at Flanagan,” said one user.

While another joked, “Clayface movie? I'm bored of studios trying to make main characters of their villains… Wait... Mike Flanagan, you say? Sign me up!”
