If you’re a fan of The Witcher and Elden Ring, then this upcoming action RPG could be one to watch in 2026.

When it comes to immersive fantasy worlds, CD Projekt RED’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has to be somewhere at the top of the list.

The open-world map of the Continent is packed full of wondrous (and dangerous) places, meaningful missions, deadly monsters and interesting NPCs. Not to mention, its protagonist, Geralt of Rivia, oozes charm.

Then we have FromSoftware’s Elden Ring, which also has to be one of the best RPGs of all time, and that’s saying something considering it's from the same developer that brought us Dark Souls and Bloodborne. Not to mention the Lands Between is a vast and interesting place to explore, with tons of challenging enemies to kick your backside into next week.

The Witcher Meets Elden Ring, You Say?

Yes, that’s right, if you’re on the prowl for a game that has hints of The Witcher and Elden Ring, then The Relic: First Guardian, developed by Project Cloud Games, might be worth your attention.

“Transformed into an apocalyptic landscape by the destruction of the great relic, the once-prosperous Arsiltus lies in ruins,” reads the synopsis of the game on Steam.

“But through the silence we began to hear breaths that have not yet faded, faint whispers carried on the wind: promises, waiting, fear, and love. These forgotten voices are Relics; fragments imbued with the emotions and wishes of those who lived before.”

After watching its trailers, I don’t know what else there is to say, other than it looks like a Witcher and Elden Ring pairing made by the gods. It has badass enemies, over-the-top weapons, a dark gothic tone and a complimentary soundtrack to boot. Have a watch of the trailer to see for yourself.

“Horror fantasy game with swords? Looks interesting," said Shadoks in the comments section on YouTube.

“I'm actually looking forward to this game. It looks sick,” declared luigiongaming3959.

“Looks awesome! And just in time for my birthday,” commented MrMEGALOL01.

If The Relic: First Guardian looks like it could be your cup of tea, then you might be pleased to know that it’s releasing very soon on 26 May 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. That's, of course, assuming it doesn't get delayed, which is always likely in the video game industry. If that happens, hopefully it will be worth the wait.
