The Witcher 4 has officially entered full-scale production but when it comes to any other aspect of the game, we are completely in the dark.

Will Ciri be the main character? How much of a role will Geralt play now that his journey has come to a close? The questions are endless but with CD Projekt RED keeping its cards close to its chest, it may be a while until we get any answers.

However, that does not mean that the studio hasn’t been dropping hints in various different ways and the latest one comes courtesy of a brand-new statue.

An image of The Witcher statue was posted to social media recently by senior game programmer Adam Pach.

It depicts Geralt of Rivia about to slay a Griffin and other than him looking pretty damn epic, fans were paying more attention to a small item laying beside the creature itself.

To many, it is just a random coin but to eagle-eyed fans, it looks pretty familiar.

With the social media post shared over on r/Witcher4, one user wrote, “The coin is driving me insane."

Why, you may ask? That’s because the very same coin has been seen before in marketing for The Witcher 4.

Not only that but in Pach’s post, he writes, “So we started off production of the new Witcher and I can’t wait to see the result of our work. This job pays really good coin by the way”.

The coin was also shared to r/witcher just over two weeks ago with the original post asking: “Could the coin from the small teaser of The Witcher 4 hold any deeper meaning?”

As you can imagine, fans had their theories and took to the comments to share them.

“I've seen many people suggest that the coin from The Witcher 4 teaser could be related to the Curse of the Black Sun, but I can't see a clear connection,” the original poster theorised.

“I've also read theories that it might be a defier's oren (though I don’t see the resemblance), and others mentioning that part of the design resembles the portal at the end of The Wild Hunt where Ciri steps through.”

However, another user thinks differently.

“Not gonna lie I'd laugh my a** off if it turns out the coin has absolutely nothing to do with any teasers and it was just a way to troll by CDPR, but yeah it's definitely driving me a bit batty,” they shared.
