There is slight pressure on CD Projekt Red considering it is currently in charge of two of the most anticipated sequels of all time but a recent update reveals that the wait will be worth it.

As the brains behind hit RPGs The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red has its work cut out to make their upcoming sequels bigger and better than before.

As we already know, the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel is currently in development and is being headed by a new CD Projekt Red team based in Boston. Known as Project Orion, its developers refuse to make the same mistake twice when it comes to launch.

In comparison, The Witcher 4 is the “furthest along” despite still being in the early stages of production. Codenamed Project Polaris, the long-awaited sequel is expected to have 400 people working on it by the mid-point of 2024 and according to a recent comment by CD Projekt Red’s Pawel Sasko, it is set to be the “most advanced” of its upcoming projects.

"Most of those are in early stages," Sasko said. "The only difference is the Polaris project—so, the new Witcher saga—that will enter production this year. It's the most advanced of all of those."

The “those” Sasko refers to is not only Project Orion and Polaris but also Canis Majoris, the remake of The Witcher and Sirius, a Witcher spinoff game in the works at Molasses Flood.

It seems as though CD Projekt Red has its work cut out in upcoming years especially with so much anticipation on its shoulders. However, with it determined not to make the same mistakes twice, we should be able to look forward to smooth launches for all its future titles.
